Bob Walthour tells great stories about his more than three decades coaching at CHS, and it’s clear listening to him, that he really gives his all to his swimmers, just as they do for him. Still coaching, he looked at this year’s roster of drivers and realized that he had coached a parent of every single boy on the team!
Under Bob’s guidance, Carmel set a phenomenal string of records, his girls teams winning over a hundred consecutive meets, and on the way they established a tradition of unequalled teamwork and excellence. As remarkable as this is, it doesn’t surprise anyone who has gone to the school in the past several decades. Bob is a living legend.
